Replacement bridge. Scheme started in January 2000 and completed July 2000.
A flat-decked bridge was put in place in the 1960s to permit agricultural access. The new bridge was to be constructed to provide navigable clearance. Transco diverted the gas main in the towpath in Summer 1999.
The old bridge was removed early in 2000 and a temporary farm access and right of way formed across the canal upstream.
Construction of the new reinforced box culvert bridge had progressed quickly during the Spring and this picture shows the main structure complete.
The completed Lees Mill Bridge in July 2000 with final work underway on the ramp to the towpath.
